I rode over to a Valley welding place and got a co2 cylinder exchange. I then made a quick stop at McDonalds for breakfast. Then I met a few of our regular riders for a ride south. The plan to ride over Beartooth pass got nixed as the time factor did not allow enough time to get back for tonight’s festivities. Ron & Maureen, Noel & Yvette, Fred & Debbie, John, Tony and I headed to Cody Wyoming and had lunch at the Irma motel. I rode down the street to say hi to Ray & Kathy at Cody Custom Cycle. They were very glad that I stopped by again. They said next time to give them a little notice and they will have their spare bedroom ready for me to stay. We talked for a while and then I went back to the lunch place with everyone else. After lunch, I rode back to do a couple of pictures with Ray & Kathy. While I was there, a guy from New Zealand was looking my bike over pretty close. He finally found a little ‘Tiki” small statue made of something like jade that he had given me five years ago on the ride to Milwaukee for Harleys 100th. He was trying to explain the whole thing to his daughter as they were taking pictures. He was pretty excited that his gift from 5 years ago was still on the bike. I gave ray another Oregon Tool & Supply t shirt and got another Cody Custom Cycle shirt in exchange. Ray & Kathy sure are good people there in Cody. Fred & Debbie, and Tony wanted to do something different so the rest of us headed back north. We did a side trip up the beautiful Chief Joseph scenic highway. When we got to the top for pictures it was quite a view over all the valleys and the Beartooth Mountains in the distance. We were at about the 8,000 ft elevation then. We headed back down the mountain and back into Billings. It was a great DRY day ride. Beartooth Harley Davidson is getting ready for all of us to show up for the big party tonight. 3 bands and who knows what else. We went to the party and everything was for sale. We hung around for an hour or so and the band was on an extra long break, so a few of us went for a real dinner at Famous Dave’s BBQ place. It was a pretty good meal. We had more good conversation with Dave and his wife, Noel & Yvette, Tony and me. We said goodnight and Tony and I rode back to our motel and asked for a 5:30 wake up call. There are still no clocks in the rooms. 7:00 am departure for a 420 mile ride to Bismarck North Dakota…..
